Paradise Island in The Bahamas began welcoming megayachts many years ago. Currently, the marina is undergoing a major renovation. Bearing the new name Hurricane Hole Superyacht Marina, the slips and upland area are targeting cruising visitors as well as those seeking a second home.
The marina (pictured below as it originally opened) is just steps from the well-known Atlantis resort, which includes a casino, a water park, dozens of restaurants and bars, and shops. The main focus of the massive marina renovation relates to infrastructure. Notably, it’s seeing the creation of new floating and fixed concrete docks. Altogether, 6,100 linear feet (1,859 meters) of deep-water docks are coming, with slips suitable for megayachts to 420 feet (128 meters). Additionally, the sea walls will quell wakes and wave action in various conditions. On-site customs and immigration, 24-hour security, fueling, and more will be available, too.
Hurricane Hole Superyacht Marina is also gaining welcoming amenities for captains and crew. In fact, they’ll get a pool, a lounge, and a gym. Making their onboard duties easier, the property is gaining a gourmet grocery store. Provisioning will, understandably, be available, as will dockside delivery from a wine and liquor store.
The stores are within The Residences at Paradise Landing, where two- and three-bedroom units are available for sale. Buyers can join the 18-hole Ocean Club Golf Course as well as Paradise Island’s Beach Club, on Cabbage Beach. Every residence will have water and marina views as well. Furthermore, besides stores, The Residences will include a day spa, a gym, a pharmacy, a bank, and a medical clinic.
Anticipate completion to occur in the last few months of 2021. David Kosoy, executive chairman and founder of Sterling Global Financial, the project’s developer, manager, and owner, says, “With great respect for Hurricane Hole’s place in the rich history of Paradise Island, and The Bahamas, we are committed to restoring this famous marina into a premier yachting destination, and a place for the community to enjoy.”
