Sometimes it takes seeing just a section of a superyacht under construction to convey just how voluminous she is. With this quick peek at the ISA Continental 80 hull progress, you can appreciate all the better what the 262-footer (79.9-meter) will be like.
Revealed in 2019, and started on spec last summer, the Continental 80 comes in at 262 feet (79.9 meters). In fact, she is the largest spec yacht under construction in Italy. Furthermore, she is the largest ISA Yachts project to date when it comes to both length and volume. The latter is 2,300 gross tons.
With a beam of 41’10” (12.8 meters), the ISA Continental 80 comes from the drawing boards of Enrico Gobbi – Team for Design. The studio specifically styled her exterior lines to seem streamlined and quite architectural, with square ports. ISA’s parent company, Palumbo, is handling naval architecture in house, based on a proven full-displacement form. The shipyard anticipates a 17-knot maximum speed with twin MTUs and a range of 6,200 nautical miles at 12 knots.
Since interior outfitting won’t start until January, buyers have time to acquire the project and tailor her to their tastes. In the meantime, though, ISA is collaborating with Luca Dini Design to entice customers with a few looks and layouts. For instance, a gym sits on the same deck as the sky lounge, for workouts with wonderful views. Additionally, the upper deck is in many respects a dedicated owners’ deck, featuring indoor and alfresco lounging aft and the sleeping space forward. Equally notable, a touch-and-go helipad on this deck means you can go straight into your private area upon arrival.
Six further staterooms take care of your family and friends, as do plenty of ample relaxation areas. The aft main deck may be the one everyone enjoys the most, thanks to the elongated pool. It’s an infinity pool, too, with the aft glass wall actually being two panes, with a waterfall effect between them.
The ISA Continental 80 will run with a crew complement of 18 plus a captain when she’s ready in 2024.
