“Our team has strong emotions for this new F100 project,” says Giovanni Filippetti. CEO of the family-run shipyard bearing his last name. Construction recently started on the megayacht, with delivery of hull number one set for the end of next summer.
A fast flying-bridge yacht, the F100 should hit a maximum speed of 22 knots with MAN engines and cruise around 20 knots. The nearly 100-footer (30.4-meter) is the flagship of the three-model Flybridge series for the shipyard. Like her smaller sisters, she features exterior styling by Fulvio De Simoni, though she is arguably sleeker and more modern. Her hull windows, for instance, are larger, as are the panes of glass along the main deck. In general, “The external lines do not follow the yachting fashion change,” Filippetti says.
He further calls attention to the general arrangement, which includes of course blend of interior and alfresco spaces, but also holds surprises. Specifically, the open transom, with a built-in settee, is a usable beach area whether underway or at anchor. When the F100 is at anchor, fold-down wing sections to each side of this beach area turn it into a larger usable space, where sun lounges or other loose furnishings can be set up. Since all of this is just below the main aft deck’s seating area, owners and guests easily can spend more time here than up on the flying bridge.
Filippetti Yacht has not disclosed whether hull number one is under contract. Overall, though, the F100 series offers a choice of up to six staterooms. The semi-custom nature additionally means cabins can swap out for a gym, a TV lounge, or other purpose.
“This model includes all the features that are important to us in a yacht,” Filippetti declares.
The shipyard plans to deliver the first hull at the end of summer 2022.
