Though more details are coming in a few weeks, Ocean Alexander has given several clients a sneak peek at a new series. It’s the Puro yacht line, whose styling and naval architecture come from two Italian studios. In fact, it’s a first-time collaboration among the three companies.
The Puro yacht’s looks and engineering spring from the drawing boards of Giorgio M. Cassetta, in conjunction with the studio NavalHEAD. Cassetta previously has penned the lines of several projects from Alpha Yachts, Benetti, and Tankoa Yachts, among others. NavalHEAD, meanwhile, opened its doors in 2010 to focus primarily on designing and engineering vessels with high performance efficiency and low environmental impact. The team has prior experience working in yachting as well, directly for Fincantieri.
With an LOA of 113’6” (34.6 meters) and a beam of 24’5” (7.44 meters), the Puro yacht further has a more-than-healthy volume of 273 gross tons. This move to maximize volume is in keeping with what a number of yacht builders, both custom and semi-custom, are offering to buyers.
Buyers certainly will appreciate the creature comforts that come amid those spaces and the voluminous feel. Since alfresco living is a significant part of the yachting lifestyle, Puro features a partially shaded flying bridge. The design for hull number one shows off a large U-shape seating area rimming the aft part of the deck. Sunbeds sit forward, with a bar and dining area beneath the hardtop. Note, too, the raised foredeck leisure area, which is on the same level as the bridge deck. The large settee/sunpad and hot tub will let the entire group of 10 passengers spend time together, without impeding the crew’s needs to access gear.
Further for alfresco enjoyment, the megayacht has a cozy beach club and versatile swim platform. It’s a Transformer Z-Lift platform, meaning the center portion can rise up and extend out (like a Z shape) before settling down as an extended area to sunbathe or jump into the water.
Inside, the nearly 114-footer has five staterooms, along with two bunk cabins for crew and a separate captain’s cabin. Naturally, owners can tailor the interior to their tastes, choosing among a variety of woods, stones, and more.
Though anticipated performance figures aren’t yet available, the megayacht will have a pair of 2,000-hp MANs.
Hull number one of the Puro yacht line should make her global debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show next year.
