With a volume of 7,200 gross tons and at 367 feet (112 meters), the yacht Renaissance has made history at Freire Shipyard. She’s not only the largest megayacht ever built in Spain, but also the largest megayacht from the design boards of Bannenberg & Rowell. She’s chartering, too, so you can get aboard.
The shipyard released word of the project, as hull number 724, in 2019. Many of the details remained confidential at the time. With delivery having taken place, and charter bookings underway, the build and design teams can reveal more. Amid Renaissance’s decks—six in total—19 staterooms accommodate 36 people. Specifically, the staterooms spread across three decks. Of course, the owners’ suite holds particular prominence, occupying an entire deck itself. In fact, it also has private fore and aft alfresco areas. One of those areas contains a private pool, too.
Both the largest-length and highest-tonnage megayacht from a Spanish shipyard, the yacht Renaissance boasts dining areas outside on four decks. Bannenberg & Rowell collaborate with the owner for further alfresco highlights. They include a large guest pool, a few bars, and numerous seating areas to take in the views.
Speaking of large, the ceiling heights in some interior areas are extraordinary. The main saloon and formal dining room each have 19-foot-high (5.7-meter-high) ceilings. Throughout the spaces, entertaining and relaxation are the priorities.. The yacht Renaissance has a wellness center with plunge pools, a steam room, and a sauna, along with massage rooms and a hair salon, for instance. That same spa—occupying its own deck—has a balcony as well. Also on the spa deck, the gym is what Bannenberg & Rowell asserts is the largest exercise area afloat. More relaxation can take place in the beach club, with sunlight spilling in from three sides. Rounding out the fun features, guests can enjoy a jazz bar and a cinema.
While guests additionally can admire a curated art collection custom-made stained glass, and backlit onyx bars, along with bronze doors (left), one more design detail surely will please them. There’s a pizza oven onboard.
Renaissance is available for charter this summer in the Med, through the central agency of Burgess Yachts. Her rate starts at €3 million (about $3.318 million at press time) per week. Come the winter, she’ll move to the Caribbean. Neither of those destinations will allow her ice-classed hull to prove its mettle, so perhaps private cruises or future charter locations will. Regardless, four custom Cockwells tenders and a certified helipad will ensure guests arrive in style in all locations.
In related news, Freire Shipyard has yet another massive megayacht, a.k.a. Project Incognita, in build. Her hull and superstructure construction should complete soon, for outfitting to begin.
