The last days of July saw a flurry of activity at the Viareggio, Italy shipyard belonging to Benetti. Hull number six in the Benetti Diamond 44M yacht series slipped into the water, the way you would expect of an Italian build. A shower of red, white, and green confetti (the colors of the Italian flag) rained down on her, marking an important moment. BP006 (Benetti is referring to her by her hull number) is the sixth member of the series to launch within three years.
Inaugurated as the Diamond 145 series with Ink, the range belongs to the Benetti Class category of semi-custom yachts. She blends traditional, time-honored styling elements with sporty, more contemporary lines and especially a good amount of glass. Benetti and the late designer Giorgio Cassetta wanted to provide customers with something appealing to classicists while also meeting some modern aesthetic desires. Additionally, the series, featuring fiberglass construction, prioritizes leisurely, long-range cruising. At 11 knots, for example, the yacht should see a range of 3,800 nautical miles.

At nearly 145 feet (44.06 meters), the Benetti Diamond 44M yacht accommodates a total of 10 people in the owners’ party. Naturally, the master suite is on the main deck, while friends and family have accommodations below decks. Optionally, though, customers can have a fifth guest stateroom on the upper deck. Regardless of cabin configuration, as you would expect, the interior contains traditional leisure areas like saloons, while alfresco areas emphasize dining, sunning, and overall convivial gatherings.
Although Benetti isn’t disclosing the décor details for this particular launch, she does notably depart from her predecessors. Specifically, hull six of the Benetti Diamond 44M yacht series has two pools instead of just one hot tub. Usually, the upper deck contains a hot tub, in a prime position to enjoy the views especially at anchor. The new launch adds a pool on the foredeck, in keeping with today’s preferences.

Finally, because cruisers still want to be as close to the water as possible, the series has a beach club. Not only that, but it has sliding glass doors to the swim platform. This makes the beach club usable even when Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate with the sunniest of days.
