While two sets of owners are looking forward to taking delivery of similar superyachts in April and June, this particular Moonen 122 Martinique yacht will be ready in April 2025. She doesn’t yet have an owner, which means plenty of time remains for a buyer to personalize her.
The project, specifically the Moonen YN205, is hull number seven in the Martinique series. The hull launched at Moonen’s hull building partner, Talsma, last week. (On a side note, this is the third Martinique hull from Talsma for Moonen.) Moonen’s team then transported it to Moonen’s headquarters, where joining with the superstructure and further outfitting takes place next.
Just like the six predecessors, the megayacht is a long-range cruiser with a steel hull. In fact, you can expect a range of 4,000 nautical miles at 10 knots, more than enough for transatlantic crossings. Notably, even with a steel hull, the yacht can access some shallow waters, too, like the Bahamas.
Although the hull’s primer paint and tanks are in place, the full interior layout and design are open to customizing. Simon Hollander and Alexandra Nicolaescu of Hollander Yacht Design have a few ideas for buyers. Invited by Moonen to create conversation-starting drawings, they envision the Moonen 122 Martinique with accommodations for 10 to 12. The higher total will require Pullman berths in one of the five staterooms. They also envision a captain and seven crewmembers handling operations and interacting with passengers, a good crew-to-guest ratio.
Whether a skylounge or cinema is a must-have, Hollander Yacht Design specializes in sustainable luxury materials. It’s previously designed superyachts, including another Moonen, with eco-friendly textiles and décor pieces.
