Yacht Diamond Binta Shines Brightly as a History-Maker

The largest custom yacht since Tankoa Yachts opened its doors in 2008 is in the water. She’s the yacht Diamond Binta, for a repeat customer who, like the shipyard, is taking a big step up.

Known by her hull number until now, the Tankoa T580, the project is 190 feet (58 meters). By comparison, the owner’s previous Tankoa was the yacht Binta D’Or, a.k.a. Bintador, a 164-footer (50-meter) from 2019. The extra space affords some sizable advantages. For example, two large tenders, one being 30 feet (9 meters), sit side by side in the aft garage, ready for exploring bays or shuttling guests to shosre. The owner and guests also can indulge in a spa onboard, just off the beach club. The spa includes a massage room. As for the beach club, it’s especially interesting to note that the guests can reach it directly from their staterooms. The owner worked with Francesco Paszkowski Design and Margherita Casprini to design the special passageway making it possible, with windows into the engine room. Furthermore, a pool sits fully forward on the flying bridge, near the gym.

Notably, the yacht Diamond Binta has some features that her predecessor did, too. For instance, she has a foredeck helipad. (On a related note, the owner is a helicopter pilot and actually flew the aircraft himself.) Additionally, a total of six staterooms, including the master suite, accommodate 12 people.

So far, neither the design team nor Tankoa Yachts are releasing details about what the staterooms or the rest of the interior looks like. Regardless, there might be some hints from Bintador. The owner enlisted the help of artists who are good friends to create custom sculptures, mosaics, and more. These special pieces were not just striking to see, but also inviting to touch.

Delivery should take place by the end of next month. Typically, her maiden voyage would immediately follow. However, the yacht Diamond Binta will debut at the Monaco Yacht Show first, in September. The owner will enjoy some Mediterranean cruising after that.
