The larger the yacht, the more—and, often, the better—the lifestyle amenities. Pearl Yachts, whose semi-custom models are all under 100 feet (30.5 meters), has cast aside that limiting belief. Having just launched the first of its new Pearl 82 yacht series, it proves even entry-level megayachts can boast big, bold ideas.
During the initial design reveal in January 2023, Pearl Yachts pledged she’d pack features of far-larger superyachts. They include five staterooms, one of which is an on-deck master. The master also has sliding-glass-door access to a private bow lounge (below). Additionally, buyers can choose between two standard aft-deck arrangements, neither of which is typical. The Riviera arrangement includes aft-facing sunpads, a table, and a settee. The Veranda arrangement, meanwhile, features pivoting seating that regardless of where it moves always provides views of the water.
The bigger thinking extends to watertoys, too. In fact, the Pearl 82 yacht is the only model of her size stowing a Williams SportJet 395 tender and a PWC in a garage. Usually, one or the other is aboard a yacht like this. Furthermore, owners would stow the waterbike or the 12’8” (2.95-meter) RIB, for three passengers, on the flying bridge.
Finally, all of this comes in a raised-pilothouse design—with walkaround decks.
As it has with previous models, Pearl Yachts worked with Bill Dixon and Kelly Hoppen for the naval architecture and interior design, respectively. The trio came up with the above-mentioned solutions, plus high-end interior packages, together. “This yacht is a testament to our feature-focused philosophy and innovative spirit, and to our dedication to pushing the limits of yacht design,” declares Iain Smallridge, Pearl Yachts’ founder and managing director.
Hull number one of the Pearl 82 yacht series makes her formal debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival this September.
