“I define the RMK120 Seven Seas as ‘the power of elegance’ and the ‘elegance of power,’” says Cüneyt Okcu, RMK Marine’s yacht division director. The sturdy, rugged profile conveys her purpose, global cruising at a fuel-efficient pace. Simultaneously, the 121-foot (37-meter) yacht Seven Seas, delivered earlier this year, is for family to make memories together.

When the build and design team announced the project in 2021, Adnan Nefesoğlu, the yard’s CEO, remarked, “The explorers we build with the Vripack design have great stories to tell.” In fact, the duo had collaborated on five previous superyacht explorers putting lots of nautical miles beneath their hulls. Similarly to those explorers, the story behind the yacht Seven Seas involves an owner with a lot of cruising experience. The owner wanted not just something capable of cruising the world, but also an inviting experience. That’s why, for example, aft-facing seating tucks in on a mezzanine between the swim platform and main deck. Bart M. Bouwhuis, Vripack’s co-creative director, says it serves a few purposes. Firstly, “It creates a carefully elevated stepped deck that offers an easy entrance into the lazarette.” Secondly, the seating creates “more space for socializing and a real connection to the yacht’s surroundings.”

This mezzanine further connects guests to the primary alfresco dining area, the main aft deck. Interestingly, there’s another outdoor dining spot, this one forward of the wheelhouse. Since the galley sits on the main deck, service should be pretty swift—and much easier for the crew than climbing stairs. The same is true for serving cocktails to those enjoying the sun lounges right near the dining area. Yet another aspect of this area is mindful of crew. Because these leisure areas are all on the foredeck, Vripack wisely devised a step-down gear area tucking into the bow.

With a range of 5,000 nautical miles at 10 knots, the yacht Seven Seas is capable of covering a lot of territory. Once in a port, the crew can launch watertoys and tenders, including from a dedicated stowage area on the uppermost deck. Here, 592 square feet (55 square meters) are devoted to not just the tenders, but also a 7.5-ton-capacity crane. The hefty capacity is just one more reminder of the yacht’s intentions.

“Like many of our previous Vripack designs, you feel cozy and safe,” Okcu says. “You can truly feel the spirit of the sea in Seven Seas.”
