Yacht designers and builders are continually seeking ways to provide owners and guests with more of what they want, including outdoor space. The Majesty 100 Terrace yacht is Gulf Craft’s latest solution. The semi-custom series offers more alfresco areas than most megayachts in the 100-foot (30.5-meter) range.
Measuring nearly 106 feet (32.25 meters), the model will be the new entry-level Superyacht series, a position currently held by the Majesty 111. The shipyard is providing her with her own semi-displacement hull and a layout all her own, too. “Terrace” in “Majesty 100 Terrace” refers to the handful of fold-down platforms and permanent veranda-like areas. For instance, the main aft deck has folding bulwarks to each side. They’re safe to step out onto, thanks to railings rimming them when they deploy. Yet another part of the main aft deck plays into the terrace concept. An aft-facing sunpad sits perched above and slightly extending over the transom. Just below this, meanwhile, a flip-down section of the transom reveals a wide seating area. It’s perfect for enjoying views at anchor, although it further suits keeping an eye on the kids as they enjoy watertoys.
Perhaps the most coveted terrace of all, however, is the one solely for owners. The Majesty 100 Terrace yacht has a sliding glass door as part of a wall of glass forward in the main-deck master suite. First thing in the morning, mid-afternoon, or whenever, owners can step out to a cozy covered porch (top). Fresh breezes flow in from the sides, while sun streams down through skylights. A sunbed tucked in the bow encourages owners to curl up with a good book or simply enjoy the sights. One caveat: Anchoring gear sits beneath the sunpad, so the area requires crew access on occasion.
The flying bridge serves almost like one large floating tier as well. Fully forward, for example, the entire owners’ party can spread out among a seating area, a pool, and sunpads. Large glass insets in the deck forward of the sunpads are the skylights for the owners’ terrace below. When it’s time for lunch or dinner, guests can walk aft to the alfresco dining area. Although it’s nicely shaded from the hardtop overhang, a sliding section overhead can let in more light.
Speaking of light, a skylight fills the central stairway inside with plenty of sunshine. That, and abundant floor-to-ceiling windows across her decks make the Majesty 100 Terrace yacht more inviting. So does a variety of marble, pairing with walnut wood and brushed brass.
Anticipated performance figures for the 199-gros-ton yacht aren’t available. Nor is a delivery date for hull number one. The shipyard hasn’t disclosed whether it’s starting construction on spec or waiting to sign a contract.
