Just as the deep blue sea has abundant discoveries in store, the Deep Blue series from Cantiere delle Marche promises a way to explore oceans near and far. The fourth Deep Blue project, specifically a Deep Blue 141 yacht, is under contract for an owner who previously has owned Northern European-built yachts.
Vasco Buonpensiere, the shipyard’s co-founder and CEO, says the yard team was convinced the Deep Blue concept would capture attention when revealed a few years ago. With styling by Horacio Bozzo Design, the looks are gentler than those of other explorer yachts from the yard. However, the naval architecture and engineering from Hydro Tec strongly supports far-flung cruising and ocean crossings in a variety of conditions. The launch and delivery of the first Deep Blue, the globetrotting yacht Acala (below), garnered an “enthusiastic response,” Buonpensiere says. In fact, two further Deep Blue contracts resulted with other clients prior to this latest signing.
The owner of the new Deep Blue 141 yacht says Cantiere delle Marche’s “solid reputation for quality that rivals the best of Northern European shipyards” impressed him. “Over the years, I’ve enjoyed long, memorable holidays aboard some of the finest yachts crafted by renowned Northern European shipyards,” the owner explains. “Through these experiences, I gained a clear vision of what I expect from a yacht, the onboard lifestyle I like, the duration of my time at sea, the number of guests I have to entertain, and the ambiance and amenities I desire.”

As for what the Deep Blue 141 yacht will feature, among the priorities are ample and comfortable crew’s quarters. The 141-footer (43-meter) additionally will have a volume of 400 gross tons. That good volume should be evident in the owner’s suite, on the main deck, of course. It will include a sizable lounge/study, too. Notably, four guest staterooms will also be on the main deck. More guest staterooms will be below decks, although Cantiere delle Marche isn’t revealing how many just yet. The shipyard further isn’t releasing sneak peeks at the interior, from Terence Disdale Design. Regardless, this project will be the first time the two are collaborating.
While the Deep Blue 141 yacht is the fourth Deep Blue overall and the same size as Acala, she’s not a carbon copy. Styling and engineering are the only commonalities. “The Deep Blue 141 platform stands out for its remarkable adaptability and versatility,” Horacio Bozzo explains. The goal from the inception was “to seamlessly integrate and accommodate various customization options.”
