What better way to describe a yacht’s worldwide cruising capability than to code name her Above? Similarly, what better way to describe it than choosing the name Beyond for a similar project? The concept yacht Above, along with her larger sibling Beyond, is piquing interest among buyers who, well, want to go farther.
Exclusively represented by Denison Yachting, the two projects are still on paper. But, Turquoise Yachts has already fleshed out an engineering package and construction timeline. Additionally, Bannenberg & Rowell has partnered with Turquoise Yachts for the styling and interior design. Each superyacht is for “an adventurous buyer who wants the absolute best and to go ‘above and beyond’ to create a truly custom build,” explains Alex G. Clarke, the Denison Yachting broker handling the sale.

To that end, Clarke says one of his favorite features is the creative interpretation of a crow’s nest. Bannenberg & Rowell created it purposely to move up and down the mast. “Imagine using this feature when cruising the polar regions,” Clarke notes. Yet another major experience owners and guests will enjoy from the perch, “docked in Port Hercule for the Monaco Grand Prix,” he adds.
Although the concept yacht Above is entirely available for personalizing, the 1,400-gross-ton project can incorporate some desirable features. For instance, up to 14 guests in the owners’ party can stay aboard. All six staterooms for friends and family can occupy the main deck as well. Naturally, a private, separate oasis awaits owners one deck up, benefitting from some of the best sweeping views. It additionally can include an office/study.

To stimulate interest more, Bannenberg & Rowell suggests that the yacht Above have fold-down balconies complementing the main-deck lounge aft. The studio also suggests deployable sides for the beach club-turned-wellness area. Possibilities for the wellness area include a massage room, a sauna, and a steam shower, for instance. Of course, a gym and a waterside lounge hold strong promise, too. Owners and their guests especially may like how the entire area can be extra light and bright thanks to the glass-bottomed pool directly overhead.
Whether decks have convivial bars or cozy private corners, the build and design team emphasizes the importance of crew flow and proper operations. Likewise, the captain and crew—17 people in total—have better amenities than some other yacht projects. They get a substantial crew mess and a crew gym, for example. A pantry is on each deck as well, plus walk-in refrigeration and freezer spaces mean staying away from shore for long periods isn’t an issue.

Simon Rowell Bannenberg & Rowell’s creative director, says that the concept yacht Above and the concept yacht Beyond “are two finely honed explorers.” With strong sightlines and architectural interest taken into account, “we have included numerous options for entertaining and sociable dining experiences for groups of all sizes.”
Turquoise Yachts anticipates delivering the yacht Above in 2028, depending on contract signing. That same year should be possible for the 262-foot (80-meter) yacht Beyond (depicted below). More details about her should come later this year.
