Although Perini Navi remains famous for its sailing superyachts, it has built a handful of motoryachts. The fourth motoryacht in its history, the yacht Fantasy, celebrated her launch last week. The 194-footer (59-meter) is a hint of what else is to come from the builder, too.
Although she’s Perini Navi’s fourth power project, the yacht Fantasy is technically the first motoryacht fully branded under Perini Navi. The three predecessors—Exuma (now Falco Moscato), Galileo G, and Grace E (below, now Nautilus)—all fell under the Picchiotti shipyard name. Perini Navi had acquired Picchiotti in the 1990s but decided to drop the Picchiotti name in 2017.
Like her predecessors, Fantasy comes from the drawing boards of Philippe Briand’s Vitruvius Yachts company. Sleek, long lines and more fuel-efficient hulls characterize all Vitruvius projects. So, too, does transatlantic range.
The slender profile belies a total of four decks. Accommodations for 12 people in the owners’ party are aboard, as expected. So are cabins for the captain and 10 crewmembers. Unfortunately, no details are available on any special layout configurations for staterooms or social areas. Perini Navi does say, however, that the megayacht has 800 gross tons of volume.
Camper & Nicholsons, which served as the owner’s representative and project manager throughout the build, reveals a little more. According to its team, interior design is by Tara Bernerd & Partners, a London-based studio. Additionally, the owner wanted an aesthetic reflecting understated luxury, with the design studio using varying textures and tones.

Fantasy should see delivery in May.
In the meantime, Perini Navi isn’t done with motoryachts. In fact, a fifth motoryacht, the same LOA as the yacht Fantasy, should splash this week. Furthermore, Perini Navi is developing a new motoryacht line from its in-house design division. LOAs will range from 108 to 197 feet (33 to 60 meters). The shipyard adds that 131- and 164-foot (40- and 50-meter) models are included. Perini Navi intends to reveal full information at September’s Monaco Yacht Show.
For now, Giovanni Costantino, The Italian Sea Group founder and CEO, says, “This new motoryacht line represents a natural evolution of the brand.” He explains that it made sense to continue the strategy begun under previous yard owners because it’s “a vision that blends the timeless elegance of sailing with the comfort and performance of motor propulsion.”
“As always, our focus remains on technology and innovation, integrating low-environmental-impact propulsion solutions,” Costantino concludes.
