Her name remains confidential. Her hull number, though, is YN 18151, with “51” signifying her LOA in meters. And her hull and deck paired up within the last several days at Heesen Yachts.
YN 18151, a 167-foot all-aluminum megayacht, features styling and interior design by Eidsgaard Design. If you know the studio’s work, then you know it strives for the unusual outside. YN 18151 shows off some sharp lines in these images, but we still can’t appreciate the full effect. That may have to wait until launch in late 2017 or early 2018. Delivery is set for the spring of 2018. For now, we know that curved glass will feature prominently as her ports. The overall concept: YN 18151 is reminiscent of a jet fighter.
The project marks the first time that Eidsgaard Design and Heesen Yachts are working together. The megayacht is fully custom, too, as you are likely concluding at this point, due to the choice of design studio and unexpected styling. (Most Heesens bear styling by Omega Architects.) The contract signing took place last summer. Back then, neither the builder nor the designer provided illustrations of what YN 18151 would look like, in profile or inside. That still holds true now. However, the yacht will accommodate 10 in the owners’ party, along with 10 crew. Beam measures 29’5” (9 meters).
Being a semi-displacement megayacht, YN 18151 should see good turns of speed. Heesen says top end will be 25 knots, under half load, thanks to twin MTUs. Best range: 2,425 nautical miles at 11 knots. Draft is a somewhat shallows-friendly 8’2” (2.5 meters).
Here’s how the hull and deck of YN 18151 came together at the yard:
