Following up on my ever-so-brief hint from last week, I’m pleased to tell you about a new venture for Megayacht News. Beginning Monday, my blog posts will also begin appearing on Mad Mariner, a well-read and well-respected site with news for boaters of all kinds: power and sailing enthusiasts, liveaboards, you name it.
Though less than a year old, MadMariner has already achieved more than 1.5 million page views and reaches more than 100,000 unique visitors each month. Major sites like MSNBC and Digg have picked up its stories. While these facts are impressive, the main reason why we’re now working together comes down to this: MadMariner’s founder, Glen Justice (an avid boater and former reporter for The New York Times), has brought together what I believe is a winning combination of top talent in the electronics, sailing, and power worlds, all of whom address timely topics and engage their readers. Some of the writers are exclusive to MadMariner, while others are sponsored, like I’ll be. (Don’t mistake “sponsored” for “dictated” or “controlled”–Glen’s philosophy is to trust his experts to know their material and to continue delivering the same quality as prior to the partnership.) This means you’ll still be able to read my posts daily here, but I’ll be garnering a whole new audience as well–and I hope many of you will become new regular readers of Mad Mariner.
I’m delighted to be working with Mad Mariner, and I encourage you to check out the site. If you forget to bookmark it, don’t worry; you’ll see a link at the top of this blog each day.
