Not every megayacht builder is focused on making models larger than ever before. Horizon recently announced plans to add a 107’7” offering to its Elegance line of raised-pilothouse designs, filling the gap between its 97- and 120-footers.
As it has before, Horizon turned to J.C. Espinosa to style the Elegance 106 Raised Pilothouse’s exterior and create the interior design. If you know Espinosa’s work, then you’ll recognize his signature flowing lines in the profile illustration above. While interior drawings haven’t been released, trust me when I say the layout will have his unmistakable mark, too, notably in the form of a round saloon (separated from the dining area by a bar).
Owners can opt for a main-deck master, which is unusual for a “small” megayacht such as this. But if deck location isn’t of primary concern, owners can have a below-decks suite, forward of the three guest staterooms. This, in turn, permits the creation of a country kitchen galley. Personally, I’d take the main-deck suite, given that the full-beam bath is down half a level, a clever use of space that also makes most yachts feel larger.
Horizon additionally tapped Donald L. Blount and Associates to collaborate on the hull design, which features a double chine to enhance performance in low and high speeds.
A tender garage, six-person hot tub, a day head on the flying bridge, and alfresco dining and relaxing areas round out the 106 Raised Pilothouse’s features.
More details to follow as construction progresses.
