Forty-two meters (138 feet) of muscle. That’s what the Admiral 42, launched earlier this month, should be when she’s delivered in a few weeks.
The all-aluminum, blue and grey megayacht is expected to top out at 30.5 knots, thanks to twin 3,650-hp MTUs. With styling from Luca Dini, she bears sleek lines; her hull arrived at Admiral’s Lavagna, Italy, facility in December 2007. (Admiral is the creation of two Italian yards, Cantieri Navali Lavagna in Lavagna and Cantieri Mariotti in Genoa.) I’ll get a good look at her during the upcoming Monaco Yacht Show, including her stern hatch that folds down over the water, providing extra sunbathing or even exercise space, as well as a tender that launches from a side garage.
In the meantime, Admiral continues work on the Admiral 44, which will feature a waterjet propulsion system.
