France-based JFA Yachts has handed over its most recent megayacht launch, to a repeat client. The 43-meter (141-foot) Axantha II is the successor to the 37.2-meter (122-foot) Axantha, delivered in 2003.
As such, Axantha II has a lot in common with Axantha. Both feature naval architecture by Vripack and all-aluminum construction. Both were also intended for long-range cruising (in case the rugged expedition styling failed to hint). Axantha II reportedly has a 7,900-mile range at just over 11 knots. At that speed, she consumes just 93.5 liters (24.7 gallons) per hour, according to JFA Yachts, powered by twin 750-hp Cummins.
Inside, Axantha II replicates the look of Axantha. Cherrywood bulkheads complement wood soles comprised of teak in some areas and douka (a.k.a. makore) in others. Wenge trim highlights the soles, too. There’s 340 square meters (3,660 square feet) of relaxation and entertainment space for the owner’s party of 11 to enjoy. Interesting enough, the owner’s stateroom is below decks, not on the main deck, though it is full beam, of course. The owner and guests should put the upper-deck lounge/library (above), sundeck, and saloon to good use. Eight crewmembers are housed aboard as well.
Axantha II will be available for charter in the coming months via the central agency of Neo Yachting. For now, her owner is enjoying her in the Med. Here’s more of her exterior and interior spaces.
