Benetti added the Classic Supreme 132 to its Class line of megayachts a few years ago. The first in the series, Petrus II, launched in 2012 and was initially set to be exhibited at subsequent American boat shows. Her owner, however, preferred using her. Now that this Benetti Classic Supreme 132 has finally been shown stateside, it’s understandable. She reflects the big-yacht thinking that has long been part of Benetti’s business model, in a semi-custom package.
Alfresco relaxation spaces are key for any megayacht. Increasingly builders are carving these out on foredecks, where simply stowage used to be. Aboard the Benetti Classic Supreme 132, this sunning, soaking, and dining area is perched above the anchoring gear and centered so as to not impede the crew’s need to access that gear. Stowage is still possible beneath the sunbeds and settee, too.
Balconies are such a big hit, builders are practically obliged to offer them. The Benetti Classic Supreme 132 has this clamshell-like balcony that opens off the main-deck master suite. Note the glass panels outboard and overhead. When the superstructure sections are back in place, they’re extra ports in the master suite.
Here’s the view from within the master suite with the balcony extended. It makes the casually elegant room feel wider than the 26’8” (8.18-meter) beam. Petrus II’s owner selected naturally finished oak and wenge, along with abundant stitched leather, as decor elements here and down to the four guest staterooms below decks. All Benetti Classic Supreme 132 owners have a choice of interior design and layout.
Benetti, like many builders, strives to bring the outside in aboard its yachts through the use of large ports on the main deck. Something not every yard is doing, however, is incorporating LEDs. Every Benetti Class yacht now uses them, keeping energy consumption down and eliminating those pesky hot spots of traditional lighting.
Full and nearly floor-to-ceiling ports flank Petrus II’s skylounge. Aluminum fronts on the cabinetry here lend eye-catching, textural elements. A games table complements the large lounging area to starboard. The lounge faces a TV, which isn’t visible due to it being essentially where the photographer is standing. Just forward are the gym and the captain’s cabin.
With a 7’3” ( 2.23-meter) draft and reported 3,500-nautical-mile range at 12 knots, the Benetti Classic Supreme 132 can take you to a variety of sandy shores and sophisticated ports. The megayacht also comes equipped with the proprietary BEST (Benetti Exclusive Sea Technology) system. It’s an integrated control system for everything from lighting and air conditioning to music and movies—whatever an owner and/or captain wants. Benetti can update and/or troubleshoot problems with BEST via a secure Internet connection, too.
Semi-custom construction helps shipyards keep control over a variety of costs. Yet, it also gives owners freedom of expression. The Benetti Classic Supreme 132 is one of a few Benetti Class megayachts that fill these needs, while incorporating the forward thinking of much larger projects.
