With new show dates come new possibilities for your trip to the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show later this year.
Nicknamed FLIBS (pronounced “flibs”), the show, entering its 56th year, has been moved to the first week of November, in anticipation of better weather. (While hurricane season extends into December, each week after mid-September sees the chance of a storm historically drop.) It will now be November 5 to 9. There’s also a new VIP Boat Show Experiences program. Besides access to the show, the VIP Boat Show Experiences offers you onsite valet parking, plus access to a VIP lounge at the Hall of Fame Marina, where you can enjoy gourmet food and an open bar. A few private events are reportedly in the works as well.
Show Management, which owns and organizes FLIBS each year, teamed with a company well versed in similar offerings for the VIP Boat Show Experiences. It’s Quint Events, which has rolled out the red carpet for select visitors to the Kentucky Derby, the Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas Collector Car Auctions, the NBA All-Star Game, and more.
The FLIBS VIP Boat Show Experiences program includes individual or multi-day passes. The individual passes, valid for November 5, 6, or 7, cost $399 each. A three-day pass is $1,099 per person.
Unchanged at FLIBS will be the rows of megayachts on display, and the special SYBAss Boulevard, where members of the Superyacht Builders Association will have displays and/or megayachts. SYBAss has in the past organized special tender shuttles to escort guests directly to their displays. This is also expected to be offered this coming November.
