Few details are available, but come springtime 2017, Burger Boat Company will be handing over an explorer yacht to an avid sportfisherman and cruiser. For now, Burger refers to her simply as Burger 510, representing her hull number.
At 103’6” (31.55 meters), Burger 510 features both styling and interior design by Luiz de Basto Designs. She’s the first project that the Florida-based designer and the Wisconsin-based shipyard have done together. The profile may not match what many in the yachting industry term an explorer, a.k.a. an expedition yacht. And, to be clear, neither Burger Boat Company not the owner portray the project as an all-conditions cruiser. The explorer description stems from Burger 510 putting far-flung destinations in her sights.
No information is available on the general arrangement for the megayacht. However, the saloon image at top should give you a good idea of the overall ambiance. In terms of styling, note in the profile rendering just above how Burger 510 blends sporty lines with go-anywhere looks. The sporty aspect is especially notable where the hardtop is concerned. As for the intrepid travel, consider the lines of the high bow. Of course, due to the owner’s passion for pursuing pelagics around the world, there’s also a proper fishing cockpit.
Featuring a full-displacement steel hull, hull 510 should see a best range of 4,000 nautical miles at 9½ knots. Power will be provided by twin Caterpillar C18 diesels.
