Surfers who know nothing about superyachts can still appreciate Cloudbreak, set for launch at Abeking & Rasmussen. The 237’9” (72.5-meter) yacht is being christened in honor of a famous surfing spot.
Specifically, it’s a locale in Fiji, consistently considered one of the best surfing spots in the world. Cloudbreak is also known as having some of the fastest, most challenging waves (or, as they say in surf-speak, gnarly waves).
As for the megayacht Cloudbreak, unfortunately the build, design, and management teams are keeping tight-lipped for now. Abeking & Rasmussen did release a statement revealing her gross tonnage exceeds 2,200. That is a tremendous amount of volume for Cloudbreak’s LOA. Styling is by Espen Øino, with interior design by Christian Liaigre.
There should be more information forthcoming about Cloudbreak, thankfully. With delivery anticipated in late spring, she’s set to hit the charter market this year. Given her expedition-oriented styling, perhaps guests will get to explore far-flung areas like her namesake.
