A big yacht boasting big speeds, the second model in the Astondoa Century series is approaching launch. She’s the 100 Century. The Spanish shipyard plans an equally big global debut at September’s Cannes Yachting Festival.
Considering she has an LOA of 100 feet (30.45 meters), the name of the 100 Century leaves no confusion as to her dimensions. Likewise, since she’s part of a series, her styling reflects that of her bigger sister, the 110 Century. (The 110 Century premiered last year, you may remember.) The new megayacht is sporty and even aggressive, yet not so much as to lose a chic edge.
With an expected top end of 26 knots under MTU power, the 100 Century is for owners and guests who thrill to the ride as much as arriving at the destination. Unfortunately, Astondoa has not provided details on the megayacht’s range. However, it does say that cruising speed is a still-swift 22 knots. Furthermore, given a draft of 5’9” (1.8 meters), the yacht can pull into a variety of shallow areas.
Astondoa also makes it clear that the 100 Century is for buyers who want a big-yacht experience without a big crew. She’s meant for handling by four crewmembers, and has accommodations for 10 in the owners’ party. Naturally, the master suite sits forward on the main deck. Even with it occupying the full 22’6” (6.9-meter) beam, crewmembers’ needs to move about don’t get hampered. Astondoa designed the 100 Century with a higher-than-usual wheelhouse, so crew can walk from fully forward to fully aft on one level.
In addition, as you can tell from the renderings here, the overall interior, from Cristiano Gatto Design, reflects contemporary flair. Just like the 110 Century, the 100 Century is a semi-custom yacht, so owners get to select woods and other materials.
The 100 Century isn’t the only new addition to the Century series. Astondoa intends to expand it, with a 120 Century and 130 Century in the design stages.
