Viking Yachts is making fast work of finishing its new motoryacht flagship. The Viking 93 MY (a.k.a. 93 Motor Yacht) made fast work of her sea trials, too—literally. As you’ll see in the video below, the team clocked her exceeding 27 knots at full throttle.
Fitted with a pair of MTU diesel engines, the megayacht reportedly comfortably cruised at 23½ knots. That’s right in line with what Viking anticipated. In addition, initial estimates reveal that the Viking 93MY should achieve about 450 nautical miles when running at 20 to 23 knots. Dialed back to 12 knots, the yacht should see about 730 nautical miles. As Pat Healey, Viking’s president and CEO, puts it, “If you’re out on the water and get the urge to head to Bermuda, you’ve got the legs to get there.”
You’ve also got the accommodations to take a bunch of friends and family there. The Viking 93 MY features accommodations for 10 in the owner’s party. That’s quite the crowd for a yacht of 93’5” (28.47 meters). They’re all below decks, too, though of course the master stateroom occupies the full 24’4” (7.41-meter) beam. You get your own private stairway from the main deck as well. Three crewmembers additionally get two cabins.
While the builder hasn’t yet revealed what the interior looks like, note that buyers get a choice of teak or walnut paneling. So that customers can enjoy the alfresco ambiance as well, the Viking 83 MY has a handful of bars, dining areas, and sunning spots. All on-deck space is purely for relaxation, since the tender stows in the transom.
Viking clients get to go onboard the Viking 93 MY during a special event in Atlantic City, New Jersey in September. The general public can get aboard at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in November.
