Having just celebrated the launch and christening of its largest model so far, Ferretti Yachts did what plenty of shipyards do. It created an equally celebratory video. There is, though, a difference. Most of the video takes you back in time, to how the Ferretti 1000 got her start.
Even though this megayacht model’s announcement came less than a year ago, she was already well under construction. Design and engineering, too, had been well underway longer than that. The Ferretti 1000 needed to be more than simply the biggest boat in the Ferretti Yachts flying-bridge lineup. She needed to bring a few extra-attractive ideas for customers to consider, too.
Since space is always high on wish lists, the Ferretti 1000 became a wide-body design. In fact, she is the first-ever wide body for the Italian brand. Customers therefore have a comfortable 22 feet (6.81 meters) of usable space from port to starboard from the moment they step into the saloon. The Ferretti Group’s own design and engineering departments joined forces with Filippo Salvetti for this styling. Interestingly, future Ferretti projects should bear similar silhouettes.
As you watch the engine installation, the flying-bridge rollbar, and more come together for the Ferretti 1000, you unfortunately don’t get to see the interior. Regardless, customers get a choice of two decor packages. Hull number one has the Classic design, characterized by soft, neutral colors. For those who want bolder choices, the Contemporary package adds pops of blue.
Hull number one should make her formal boat-show debut later this year. Stay tuned.
