“This yacht is ‘his’ in every respect.” Those are the words of Gianpaolo Lapenna, ISA Yachts’ technical director, in reference to the owner of project Rocco. The 213-footer (65-meter), with an experienced owner quite hands-on during the design phase, begins construction soon at the Italian yard.
Lapenna also credits the owner’s technical team for making project Rocco build upon the foundations of previous, similarly large ISA deliveries. In fact, Edmiston cites Kolaha and Mary-Jean II.
Project Rocco does have differences, of course, courtesy of Team for Design – Enrico Gobbi. The estimated 1,250-gross-ton megayacht features Gobbi’s styling and interior design. Among the highlights is a beach club, naturally, with fold-down platforms to each side. A nearly 20-foot-long (6-meter-long) swimming pool will keep the owner and guests happy on the main deck. Complementing the pool, the saloon can become an indoor-outdoor area. As you might also expect, the master suite sits forward on the main deck, spanning the full beam as well. Guests cruising aboard project Rocco have six staterooms for sweet dreams, though a seventh room can convert to accommodate guests when needed, too.
All of these ideas came from the owner’s strong experience in enjoying the cruising lifestyle. As to why he selected ISA Yachts, Simon Goldsworthy, his representative from Edmiston, explains it this way. “Now that ISA is part of the larger Palumbo Group, they were an obvious choice when we were looking for a quality Italian shipyard.” He adds, “The team at Palumbo have more than 50 years of shipbuilding experience, and already their performance during the design and specification process has been impressive.”
While just brief details about project Rocco’s design are public for now, Goldsworthy says the owner is thrilled. “It’s going to be an exciting few years,” he adds.
