On the heels of retiring the Picchiotti brand, Perini Navi has its first Perini Navi-branded motoryacht under contract. LOA: 184 feet (56 meters).
Last month, during a press conference at the Monaco Yacht Show, Perini Navi announced it was dropping the Picchiotti name for its mega-motoryacht series. Perini Navi’s CEO, Lamberto Tacoli, pointed to a combination of consumer confusion and the overall challenges of maintaining two brands.
However, the Italian builder is maintaining its relationship with designer Philippe Briand. Under his Vitruvius Yachts company, he has provided styling and naval architecture for the three motoryachts constructed thus far. They are Exuma, Galileo G, and Grace E. Briand is doing the same with the new Perini Navi-branded motoryacht.
Unfortunately, few facts are available at this juncture about the 184-footer. The shipyard will only say that she features five staterooms among her three decks. Furthermore, she’ll have nine crewmembers taking care of operations. Rising three decks high, the megayacht will, in traditional fashion, feature a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, too.
The Perini Navi-branded motoryacht joins a handful of projects on the builder’s order books. Interestingly, those include two other motoryachts, both smaller. In fact, one of them is 82 feet (25 meters) LOA. However, the shipyard signed these prior to the announcement at last month’s show. Besides the motoryachts, one sailing yacht is in build. Perini Navi anticipates formally announcing yet another sailing yacht under contract in the next several weeks.
