The twin 80-meter megayachts known as Bilgin 263-I and 263-II have taken a big step forward, together. Bilgin Yachts has brought them under the same roof. These Bilgin 263 sisterships may be launching a year apart from one another, but they’re both at the interior outfitting stage.
The projects are significant not just for the shipyard, but for the Turkish yacht-building industry as well. They’re the largest yachts so far from Bilgin Yachts. Its previous deliveries include Gialoa-Lu. Also noteworthy, Bilgin has done all plate welding and construction entirely in house. Furthermore, the Bilgin 263 sisterships are the largest private vessels ever built in the country.
Hull number one, started in 2015, moved into the outfitting shed last November. She belongs to a client who has owned two of the builder’s yachts so far. Among the features he wants: excellent alfresco spaces, some of which come from fold-down platforms over the water. As the rendering reveals, the megayacht further has an infinity pool. The second 263 will be similar, due to styling and naval architecture by Unique Yacht Design. On an interesting side note, that owner is also a repeat customer of Bilgin.
Unfortunately, however, the shipyard is not revealing much about the interiors that the two owners are creating with H2 Yacht Design. Regardless, the Bilgin 263 sisterships each feature seven guest staterooms, one of which is a VIP. We also know that at Bilgin 263-I combines Macassar ebony paneling with teak soles. In addition, agate stone covers some soles, too. Bilgin promises to reveal more in the next several months.
In the meantime, both boats share a few more similarities. Both have two hot tubs, with one reserved just for the owners. Both have a beam of 40 feet (12.2 meters). And, the Bilgin 263 sisterships should cruise at 15 knots under MTU power. That should allow a range exceeding 5,000 nautical miles at half load. Top speed should be 20 knots.
Bilgin 263-I launches next year, while her sistership launches in 2020.
