There isn’t a superyacht afloat, or in build for that matter, that lacks a sound system. More to the point, there isn’t one that lacks hundreds, if not thousands, of songs for the owners and guests to enjoy as they cruise or lounge. But, how about when you’re swimming? H2O Audio https://h2oaudio.com/ comes to your rescue with its waterproof headphones and accessories. As a matter of fact, the company came to our rescue on a recent vacation, where we put its Surge and Stream devices to the test.
Surge is a set of waterproof earphones. Stream, meanwhile, is a waterproof MP3 player. It’s reminiscent of Apple’s iPod Shuffle, which that company recently announced is being phased out.
While we only loaded a handful of songs to Stream, H2O Audio says the player can hold about 2,000 songs. In addition, it says you can enjoy 10 hours of playtime. Furthermore, between the earphones and the MP3 player, you can go 12 feet (3 meters) below the water’s surface.
We tell you more about our experience with Surge and Stream in the May edition of the MegayachtNews.com newsletter. We also tell you about the exciting new book our editor is writing, set for publication this fall. Other news includes word from a well-known Italian marina now joining a loyalty program, and a yacht builder doing its part to rid the oceans of plastic. Plus, we have details on two recently signed, significant projects for shipyards. Finally, there’s word about a long-time, high-profile head of a UK yacht builder deciding to retire. This follows more than 50 years in yachting.
