Tis the season for sea trials—specifically, for Tis, one of the latest Lürssen launches. Tis has been going through her paces for the past day or so. Judging from publicly available data, she’s hit some impressive speeds, nearing a 19-knot top end several times.
Unlike most of the German builder’s projects, Tis is not entirely under a publicity embargo. Of course, full details aren’t public yet. But, previously, the shipyard has confirmed an LOA of 364 feet (a palindrome-esque 111 meters). In addition, Lürssen has revealed a beam of 55 feet (16.85 meters). Her dimensions make Tis one of the largest launches of the year, as well as one of the largest expected for delivery prior to the new year.
The big blue beauty Tis came into view much as she appears now this past summer. In fact, in August, yacht watchers and the media got their first glimpses of her blue paint job, as well as blue accents aft on her upper decks. The uppermost of those decks is “upper” indeed, six levels high. The imposing, yet still elegant, Tis bears styling by Winch Design. Although we have yet to see any interior features, the same studio is responsible for interior design. For the time being, Lürssen will only say that she is set to be a grand entertainer, with “generous” headroom. Regardless, we surmise she has a beach club, due to four ports along her transom.
Alfresco areas seem just as generous. For instance, Tis seems to have fixed balconies. In addition, she has glass insets in several outdoor spots, surely to allow the owner and guests to better appreciate their surroundings. For instance, forward on the main deck, the bulwark dips down, opposite what appears to be a settee facing outboard. And, of course, what superyacht in her size range would be complete without a helipad? The generous landing area sits on the foredeck.
With several hours of sea trials completed on November 5, Tis should undergo more testing in the days to come.
