The American market is becoming more significant for Baglietto. An American owner is about a year away from taking delivery of an all-aluminum megayacht from the shipyard. For the time being, the shipyard just refers to her as the Baglietto 40M RPH. She is Baglietto hull number 10232.
This 131-footer (40-meter) is special for a few reasons. First, she’s an entirely custom-constructed yacht. Nowadays, it’s rare to see that approach in this size range. The custom approach extends to her hull design, which comes from the Italian builder’s in-house team. The Baglietto 40M RPH is still under wraps in terms of performance. But, Michele Gavino, Baglietto’s CEO, does say that the yacht demonstrates “the shipyard’s intention to keep pursuing technical innovation and developing our naval engineering capabilities.”
Most other aspects about the Baglietto 40M RPH are under wraps, too. The shipyard will only say that styling—hinted at in the teaser image above, the sole visual available—comes from Horacio Bozzo Design. Like a lot of raised-pilothouse motoryachts, she should have some sporty flair. Meanwhile, inside, the owner is working with the London-based designer Achille Salvagni Architetti. Neither the shipyard nor the design studio are revealing what the overall ambiance will be, or the number of staterooms. Nor are they revealing information on any distinctive features.
It’s interesting to note, though, that the Baglietto 40M RPH is the first project between the shipyard and the Salvagni studio. As for Bozzo, the builder and designer have another project in build. Hull 10231 is much larger, coming in at 177 feet (54 meters), also set for a 2020 delivery.
On a related subject, Baglietto recently received ISO 9001:2015 certification. In brief, the certification outlines various requirements for a quality-management system. Companies must meet a variety of statutory and regulatory requirements for the products they produce, for instance. (Companies across multiple industries, not just yachting, strive to achieve ISO 9001:2015 certification.) The idea is to increase customer satisfaction. In addition, they must demonstrate their ability to consistently provide products and services that meet these requirements.
