While Mangusta has introduced a few long-range megayacht models in recent years, it has not abandoned its history in maxi opens. In fact, the maxi models remain popular. Leveraging that popularity, the Italian shipyard is collaborating with Lobanov Design for a new series, the Mangusta 104 REV.
Igor Lobanov of Lobanov Design has earned a reputation for ultra-modern, even experimental, styling, as seen with Jubilee and the Tuhura concept. He brings similarly striking styling to the Mangusta 104 REV (which initially was to bear the model name Mangusta Sport 104). Notably, the curving bulwarks and flowing below-decks windows, seemingly one long pane of glass, characterize the yacht.
Another new design feature: the tender garage. You can stow both a PWC and a 16-foot (5-meter) tender in here. When the hatch remains closed, the transom reflects the more forceful styling seen elsewhere.
Even though the Mangusta 104 REV is a new model, she reflects some of the hallmarks of the Mangusta range. For instance, a large electrochromic (a.k.a. transparent-to-opaque) skylight brightens the main saloon and dining area. It complements the floor-to-ceiling side ports, too. Also like other Mangustas, the Mangusta 104 REV provides free reign over interior arrangements. Therefore, you can situate the saloon forward and dining area aft, or however best suits the way you like to live and entertain. The same is true below decks, where up to four staterooms can accommodate 10 people.
This new entry-level maxi megayacht maximizes alfresco living as well. Since the flying bridge starts around amidships, you have a veritable sundeck for lounging. Your captain will enjoy driving from up here, too, probably more than from the interior wheelhouse.
Speaking of driving, the captain can push the Mangusta 104 REV to an anticipated max speed of 35 knots. Like the other maxis, the yacht features MTU power with KaMeWa waterjets.
One final note: The megayacht can comply with the MCA Code if you wish to charter her.
