It was a very good morning in Viareggio, Italy today, as Mangusta 104 REV hull number two lowered into the water. She’s also the second of the series for American owners.
A first-time collaboration with Igor Lobanov, the Mangusta 104 REV is the entry-level model in the Mangusta Maxi Open lineup. Mangusta has maintained a reputation for these sleek, speedy craft, while expanding into long-range superyachts, too. This 104-footer (32-meter) should see a swift cruising speed of 30 knots and a wind-in-the-hair top speed of 35 knots. Propulsion comes from twin MTU engines and KaMeWa waterjets. Even at her fast cruising speed, the megayacht should see a range of 320 nautical miles. That’s more than enough to head from South Florida to the Bahamas for a long weekend of island hopping. Additionally, every Mangusta 104 REV hull comes equipped with a Seakeeper gyro stabilizer for further comfort underway and at anchor.
Maurizio Balducci, the CEO of Overmarine Group, Mangusta’s parent company, noted the intended cruising grounds at today’s launch ceremony. “She has been endowed with characteristics that make her ideal not only for the Mediterranean Sea, but also overseas,” he explains. He noted her draft of 4’1” (1.5 meters) is conducive to shallow-water cruising, too.
Wherever the owners cruise, they’ll take advantage of the indoor-outdoor lifestyle. The large door between the saloon and aft deck slides open fully, for example, for a unified feeling. Pre- and post-dinner drinks are possible on the flying bridge, thanks to a bar. And, an ample lounge on the foredeck will be perfect for enjoying anchorages, sundowners, and more. When the owners want company, six friends and family can stay in the three guest cabins.
The owners of this latest Mangusta will take delivery next month. Meanwhile, the shipyard has three further units in the series in build. The next-available Mangusta 104 REV hull can see delivery in early 2024.
