It is fitting that the largest project from UAE-based Gulf Craft celebrated her global premiere in Dubai Harbor. It is additionally fitting that she did so to promote the Emirates as a yachting destination. Further being the world’s largest all-composite production yacht, the Majesty 175 megayacht was four years in the making.
Technically measuring 177 feet (54 meters), and with a beam of 31’5” (9.6 meters), the yacht recently completed her first round of sea trials. During the showcase this past weekend, Gulf Craft welcomed local officials and other dignitaries onboard for further trials in the Arabian Gulf. Since she emphasizes leisurely travel, top speed is 17 knots.
Even with her 780-gross-ton volume and substantial length, however, the Majesty 175 megayacht affords access that similarly sized projects do not. Her composite and carbon fiber construction allows a shallow draft, specifically 6’7” (2.05 meters). This is a few feet shallower than metal-hulled yachts have. Gulf Craft and the naval architects from Yankee Delta Studio collaborated to make this a priority. Therefore, owners and guests can enjoy having some anchorages all to themselves.
Speaking of anchorages, the Majesty 175 megayacht should see a 4,000-nautical-mile range at 10 knots. That is well more than enough to explore Dubai and the rest of the UAE. In fact, she’ll emphasize those destinations at additional yacht shows and events worldwide. Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, notes Dubai’s reputation as a global city. He adds, “It is noteworthy that the superyacht is being introduced to the world at a time when the UAE continues to prudently and successfully navigate through an unprecedented pandemic to remain at the forefront of the world’s widely recommended safe travel destinations.”
