Stock traders have long tended to use the phrase “parabolic move” when a stock’s price sharply rises. Crypto buyers and sellers use the same phrase to refer to that currency’s dramatic upticks, too. One such crypto investor benefitted from parabolic moves in Bitcoin, allowing him to buy his first yacht. She’s a Horizon FD80 Skyline, christened Parabolic, naturally.
The FD80 series, which is enjoying success with American owners, has an LOA of 80’7” (about 24.6 meters) and a beam of 23 feet (6.91 meters). Due to having a skylounge, this particular member of the series gains the Skyline designation.
Construction had started at Horizon’s shipyard in Taiwan on spec, therefore allowing the owner a shorter delivery time. Yet, he still was able to personalize parts of the four-stateroom yacht. For instance, he wanted to take along some watertoys on cruises. Therefore, two PWCs sit aft on the upper deck, with a crane to launch them. The upper deck also has a six-person hot tub, further fitted with a glass-topped bar. A handful of barstools line that bar, too, all facing aft to enjoy the views. Just inside, meanwhile, the twin helm chairs and an L-shaped seating area aft are open to one another.
Additionally, the owner of Parabolic coordinated with Horizon’s in-house designers to choose décor materials. In fact, he selected colors like blues, greens, and corals to symbolize things like the ocean and the earth. He further selected décor items whose shapes reflective of the ideas of passion and geometry. For all of these, the concept was to convey how life always involves the unexpected. They appear from the below-decks staterooms to the saloon and skylounge amid anigre wood paneling with walnut accents as well as ash-wood soles.
The owner of Parabolic celebrated the christening and delivery at Horizon Yachts USA’s facilities in Florida, in a private ceremony with friends and family. The yacht will soon take him and guests on a maiden voyage to the Bahamas, thanks to a shallow-water-friendly 5’3” (1.61-meter) draft.
