The second steel-hulled superyacht in the 50-year history of Amer Yachts saw the welding of her initial steel plates at the end of July. Going by the code name of Amer 41 Explorer, she’s for an experienced cruiser who is quite involved in contributing ideas, plus has assembled an equally experienced design team.
According to Amer Yachts, the owner signed the contract at the beginning of 2022. Given the code name, the steel superyacht should measure around 135 feet (41 meters). Thus far, the shipyard is keeping the majority of details close to the vest. It does plan, however, to reveal the styling and further facts publicly during the Monaco Yacht Show later this month.
For the time being, Amer Yachts does say that the Amer 41 Explorer bears naval architecture from Optima Design. It claims the hull embraces innovation in terms of shape and technology, additionally employing a new propulsion system. Together, the package will keep fuel consumption lower than usual, plus reduce emissions, too. Simultaneously, the owner and guests should enjoy a quieter living environment while cruising and at anchor.
Styling and interior design, meanwhile, are from Luiz De Basto. The megayacht marks the first time that the Miami-based designer and the Italy-based shipyard are working together. Although none of the décor details are available, in terms of lifestyle, the builder does say tenders will launch and retrieve swiftly (and of course safely) with a new type of system.
Delivery should take place in early 2025.
As mentioned, the Amer 41 Explorer is the second steel project from Amer Yachts. The shipyard revealed the Amer 70 Steel earlier this summer. The largest yacht in its 50-year history, the 230-footer (70-meter) is set for delivery in 2026.
