Make no mistake. Even with 861 square feet (80 square meters) of sunning and lounging space in her cockpit, the first wallywind 110 yacht is a performer at heart.
Signed about six months after Wally announced this new wallywind sailing superyacht, she belongs to a longtime Wally customer. “Wally owners are like family to us, and it makes me extremely proud knowing that they continue to choose us to build their dreams on the water,” says Luca Bassani, Wally’s founder and chief designer.
Stefano de Vivo, Wally’s managing director, echoes the pride that Basani has regarding this signing. He additionally calls the customer a “selective owner.”
The unmistakably simplicity and streamlined nature of Wally’s styling pairs with a hull by Judel/Vrolijk & Co. This means that the owner and guests can pursue pure pleasure cruising one week, then competitors around racing buoys the next.
Though seeming at first glance to be a flush-deck yacht, the 110-footer (33.42-meter) actually offers deckhouse-yacht creature comforts. Look closely, and you’ll see a raised saloon. In combination with the above-mentioned cockpit, spanning the full beam, the yacht lends a lot of luxury to leisure time. In fact, Wally asserts that the space afforded by the single-level cockpit rivals that of 150-foot (46-meter) sailing superyachts,
Clients can arrange the cockpit the way they wish. Initial renderings reveal several ample sunning and seating areas. Customization opportunities apply to the interior, too. Wally so far has not indicated what this owner wants. Regardless, the open-plan configuration below decks should maintain an airy ambience. Further helping, the coachroof has a full-length skylight.
The first wallywind 110 yacht, featuring entirely carbon fiber construction, will see delivery by next summer season in the Med.
