Extra X96 Triplex Yacht Hull 4 for European Fun

A customer from Europe recently signed the dotted line for the fourth Extra X96 Triplex yacht. Taking full advantage of the semi-custom series, the owner is making some unusual requests, too.

The series premiered in 2021, as a way to offer cruising customers extra volume. To that end, the nearly 94-footer (29-meter) boasts 238 gross tons of volume. Three decks and a beam of 25 feet (7.6 meters) make the volume all the more noticeable. The advantages come in an engineering package from Extra Yachts’ parent company, Palumbo Superyachts, along with naval architect Francesco Guida.

While the sporty styling remains the same as the previous hulls in the series, this Extra X96 Triplex yacht will pack surprises inside. For example, the owner plans to cruise with a pretty big party. Typically, the series offers owners up to five staterooms, including the master suite. This customer, however, wants six staterooms in total. Two VIPs and two twins will sit below decks, while yet another VIP will sit on the upper deck. The master suite, of course, will have a nice position forward on the main deck. It will occupy about 431 square feet (40 square meters), too, and benefit from terrific views through large glass panes.

Speaking of large glass, floor-to-ceiling windows on the main deck as well as upper deck will open. An increasingly popular arrangement aboard megayachts of all sizes, it lets everyone onboard feel more connected to the stunning sea suroundings.

They can enjoy those suroundings as leisurely as they wish, too. The Extra X96 Triplex yacht propulsion package, from Volvo Penta, should permit a 12-knot cruise. Top speed, meanwhile, should be about 17½ knots. (On a related note, clients seeking a bit more speed can investigate the shipyard’s X96 Fast series. The delivery date for hull number four is set for the summer of 2024. Hull number three, meanwhile, should be in her owners’ hands this coming summer.
