It may seem contradictory to describe a yacht as looking both fast and tough, especially given the curviness of so many sport yachts and maxi yachts. However, a new Alia Yachts 43-meter raised-pilothouse (RPH) megayacht embodies both of those design styles. Her Miami-based owner couldn’t be more delighted, either.
“She’s a combination of speedy and rugged,” explains Frank Laupman of Omega Architects, responsible for styling. “The idea came from the owner and shipyard.” In looking at her profile, you’ll see Laupman’s characteristic pelican-beak bow, along with chiseled surfaces. Simultaneously, you’ll see she’s sporty, plus low profile despite rising two and a half decks. Performance-wise, the 141-footer (43-meter) should top out at 22½ knots. Interestingly, the aluminum yacht also has Van Oossanen Naval Architects’ Fast Displacement Hull Form. This should permit better fuel burn throughout the full speed range.
Overall, the Alia Yachts 43-meter RPH yacht will support the owner’s enjoyment of laid-back Floridian and Bahamian cruising. Of course, that means abundant alfresco living. Therefore, big spaces both aft and forward on the main deck will invite guests to enjoy sunning and relaxing. The same is true of the sundeck, too, as is soaking in a hot tub.
With an interior volume of 380 gross tons, the yacht has some indoor-outdoor living areas, too. In fact, the saloon has sliding-glass doors both to port and to starboard. The owner’s stateroom is forward on this same deck, in traditional fashion. Eight guests can stay below decks, where they can also work out in a pretty good-size gym fully aft (below). Although no sketches are available, the owner chose a relatively new design studio, YoDeezen, for the interiors. YoDeezen has offices in Kyiv and Miami.
The owner should take delivery next summer. Anticipate seeing the superyacht debut at that fall’s boat shows, too. “We can optimistically anticipate a strong welcome for this kind of fast but economical yacht with cool outdoor spaces,” says Gökhan Çelik, president of Alia Yachts. “The raised pilothouse concept has been overlooked of late, especially when you get over 40 meters, and I think this yacht just fits Miami.”
