The old saying “he who has the most toys wins” doesn’t take into account how some toys are multiple toys in one. The re-imagined FunAir Floating Playground is a good example. You can be among the first to try it, too, at the Monaco Yacht Show. The new version is the FunAir Climbing Playground.
“Climbing” is the key word. While the Floating Playground has long featured a slide and space to spread out, it now has a rock-climbing wall. Additionally, since it’s detachable, you can use it by itself.
If you’re familiar with FunAir’s products, you may remember that the company manufactures inflatable walls that attach to the side of a superyacht. According to John Courtney, FunAir’s CEO, it was only natural to combine the two. “As with many of our new products, we listened to our clients’ needs and developed a solution that provides endless fun for a variety of guests,” he says.
Also in keeping with its typical practice, FunAir says the Climbing Playground inflates in minutes. (The rock-climbing wall comes with its own blower pump, for convenience especially when using it by itself.) Furthermore, it packs up relatively small and light, therefore making it simpler for crew to stow. When guests want to have a blast, the crew can either tether it to the yacht while at anchor or set it up on the beach. Either way, the materials hold up to sun and saltwater exposure.
Highlights of the FunAir Climbing Playground include a climbing frame, a slide, and a shaded area beneath the frame. A FunSize Blob (for bouncing into the water, similar to the one pictured above) is also included. For guests who want to leap into the water, the climbing walls have a non-slip jumping platform. Climbing ropes and good handholds are standard as well.
FunAir will be displaying on Quai Louis II, directly in front of the Captains & Crew Lounge. It will have several other inflatables at the show as well for you to see and try. In fact, its Club Chaise and Club Chair superyacht beach furniture will be there. So, too, will the new Inflatable Bar—a fitting complement to a beach party.
