The thought of cruising the waters off northern Germany in February may be much too chilly to bear. But sea trials have to occur throughout the year for the shipyards there. The latest set, several days ago, was for the Lürssen yacht project Cali.
The 269-footer (82-meter), which launched in October 2023, showed off several of her outstanding alfresco amenities in the process. For instance, and particularly notable, she has a long, deep swim platform. Perhaps as no surprise, it makes the beach club just inside look and feel airier. That sense of openness will be even stronger when the beach club’s significant side platforms are open.
Jim Robert Sluijter, an in-house lead designer for the shipyard, penned the lines for the yacht project Cali. (Her real name still remains confidential. Her transom nameboard remained covered, too, with “Cali” all during sea trials.) From her long foredeck to her pool on her main deck, she has an abundance of alfresco amenities. In fact, the design brief from the owners included the desire for spaces to enjoy outdoor activities together with their family members.
That explains why the uppermost deck has a sizable hot tub fully forward, along with a shaded dining area. What you might not expect, though, is that it further includes a pizza oven, a barbecue, and a bar. Extending 98 feet (30 meters) fore to aft, the sundeck additionally features an outdoor cinema. The idea is for the full family to enjoy themselves from daytime well into the evening.
Unfortunatelly, the shipyard and design teams, which include RWD for the interior, cannot yet reveal anything about the staterooms or other inside areas.
Delivery should take place within the next few weeks.
