With Royal Huisman nicknaming her the “85M New World Sloop,” the yacht Project 410 is upright. Or, should we say, her hull is, having just turned. The sailing superyacht is that much closer to delivering on a promise to set a record, as the world’s largest superyacht sloop.
Although mostly a still-confidential contract, the 279-footer (85-meter) is notable for a few things. Firstly, she’s Royal Huisman’s largest yacht in build. On a related subject, the construction shed at Royal Huisman’s headquarters in Vollenhove, The Netherlands needed extending so that the hull would fit. Secondly, like all of the shipyard’s projects, she has an aluminum hull. Yet another interesting fact, once the yacht Project 410 is in her owner’s hands, she’ll rank among the world’s 10 largest sailing superyachts. Further interesting, she’ll join two other Royal Huismans in those ranks, namely the 295-foot (90-meter) Athena and 266-foot (81-meter) Sea Eagle.

These hull images are the first glimpses of the yacht, too. Not even illustrations are in public circulation. Overall information is scant as well. Frers Design developed much of the design with the owner and his team. Specifically, the overall concept, the exterior styling, and naval architecture are all from the studio. The yacht Project 410 should be a fast sailing yacht, adept even in light airs. Additionally, she should build apparent wind speed comfortably. The owner also has global cruising plans in mind.
Interiors, meanwhile, are from Wetzels Brown Partners. No details are available yet about the materials or the guest accommodations.

One other item of interest, though, did come from Royal Huisman when it announced the contract. The sailing superyacht will feature an in-house-developed, energy-regeneration system. A 2-megawatt battery bank will permit silent and emission-free operations at anchor. The system draws upon Royal Huisman’s experience with the yacht Ethereal. She was the world’s first hybrid superyacht, power or sail, seeing delivery in 2008.
In the meantime, the above-mentioned nickname for Project 410 comes from a comment made when Royal Huisman revealed her in 2022. The shipyard pledged that her interiors will “almost literally transport her guests into a New World.”
