Evo Yachts has staked its reputation on building modest-size yachts whose performance is anything but modest. Each boat also offers expandable deck areas, for more social space at anchor. The Evo R9 yacht takes both ideas even further, in a 98-footer (30-meter) capable of nearly 60-knot speeds.
Although the builder doesn’t have a contract yet, the series tops its current flagship, the Evo V8, by 22 feet (6.7 meters). Evo Yachts is also offering more customization choices than it does with its other projects. For instance, buyers can select either three or four staterooms, plus arrange the decks as large lounges or combo lounging-dining areas. The all-glass superstructure means interiors can look and feel far more open and airier as well. Up to four crewmembers can have cabins, too.
Thrill-seeking superyacht owners and guests will like the anticipated speeds of the Evo R9 yacht. With a choice of either twin or triple 2,200-hp engines, she should max out between 50 and 58 knots. Even at “just” cruising speed, the megayacht should make quick work of covering cruising grounds, at 40 to 44 knots. Judging by these renderings by Valerio Rivellini, who partnered with Evo Yachts’ own technical team, she looks just how she’ll perform.
Transformable spaces to give owners more choices is a cornerstone of Evo Yachts. Therefore, the new design still has opening hull sides. The shipyard pledges the engineering behind them is more high-tech than its other models feature, though it doesn’t go into specifics. But, Evo Yachts is also equipping the Evo R9 yacht with a transformer swim platform.
Construction will see an aluminum hull and carbon fiber superstructure, a new combination for the builder. It purposely selected these to offer customers more design options. As an example, take a close look at the aft-view rendering. Three pedestal chairs perch on an open flying bridge, with an even more wide-open aft deck directly beneath it.
More details should be available from the builder soon.
