Currently testing her systems and her 24-knot top speed, the first hull in the Westport 117|35M yacht series is nearing completion. Although she’s the Washington State shipyard’s new entry-level model, she has decades of engineering supporting her.

Westport started construction on the series in 2021, to replace the long-successful Westport 112. While it delivered nearly 100 hulls of the 112 series, regulatory requirements to reduce emissions prompted rethinking the design. The extra length with the 117|35M permits employing a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system.
Customers can expect many of the same things they’ve come to expect not just of the 112, but also of Westport overall. For instance, the ABS-classed yacht has a Bahamas-friendly draft, specifically 6′4″ (1.93-meter). Crew’s quarters for four plus the captain include a crew mess and overall are well proportioned. Since the series is semi-custom, clients have wide-ranging ways to arrange the interior. This includes relocating non-structural bulkheads. (Westport is among the few semi-custom megayacht shipyards worldwide permitting moving them.) Hull number one of the Westport 117|35M series features a main-deck master suite, which most customers certainly will want. The layout additionally includes four guest staterooms below decks. Notably, one of the guest staterooms can double as a gym, or some other flex space.
The raised-pilothouse project has welcoming alfresco areas, too. The flying-bridge, for example, unfolds over two levels. Dining, cocktailing, and enjoying the views from an observation settee—itself raised as well—are the primary activities on the upper level. You can chat with the captain at the upper helm and the chef at the barbecue, too. Down a few steps aft, meanwhile, a hot tub and space for loose sunlounges beckon.

Sea trials and all final tests are set to wrap up next month. She’ll then head to Florida. The Westport 117|35M yacht makes her official public debut at the upcoming Palm Beach International Boat Show in March.
