Although Sanlorenzo has built megayachts to 210 feet (64 meters), the big projects have been from its metal-hull division. Last week, it launched its largest-ever fiberglass project—and largest-ever semi-displacement megayacht. The first Sanlorenzo SD132 yacht, whose owner christened her Andiamo, is further pretty voluminous for her LOA, coming in at 420 gross tons.
With an LOA of 133 feet (40.7 meters), the series is already successful, despite Andiamo being hull number one. In fact, according to Tommaso Vincenzi, president of Sanlorenzo’s Yacht Business Unit, five contracts were already in hand before now. Clients like the owner of this hull were attracted to several features, especially the unusual use of space. For instance, the deck layout, from Zuccon International Project, is asymmetrical. It’s the same configuration that the builder introduced to the market aboard the Sanlorenzo SL106 Asymmetric, which premiered in 2022. Aboard the Sanlorenzo SD132 yacht, the main deck has a side deck solely to port, and an upper-deck passageway to starboard. This allows pushing interior space full beam to starboard on the main deck—with sliding-glass doors leading out to a side balcony as well. Simultaneously, the asymmetrical layout adds usable upper-deck space to port. Yet, the profile still appears balanced.
Another space-related amenity that the owner of Andiamo likes: the expandable alfresco areas aft. Three fold-down sides create 753 square feet (70 square meters) of usable waterside space for lounging, working out, or both. (Sanlorenzo hasn’t specified what the owner requested, but shows the possibilities in the video here, interspersed with in-build footage from a few months ago.)
This sense of being that much more connected to the water is what Zuccon International Project wanted to replicate with the interiors, too. From the full-beam, 592-square-foot master suite to the four guest staterooms, “earth-inspired colors create authentic, balanced, and welcoming environments,” explains Bernardo Zuccon of the studio. Tactile finishes such as a cement-like feel in the en suite baths do the same. Even the contrasting dark and pale woods in the master suite and fabrics throughout the decks lend warm, inviting looks and touches.
Of course, the owner and guests will want to spend a good amount of time in the real outdoor environment. Therefore, the 915-square-foot (85-square-meter) flying bridge is sure to be a favorite. So, too, will be the glass-walled pool, with sunbeds flanking it, in a prominent position forward on the main deck. The views certainly will be outstanding from here as well. Finally, a healthy-size tender to 20 feet (6.25 meters) can take them on shoreline explorations. Notably, watertoys of this length typically go aboard yachts larger than the Sanlorenzo SD132 yacht. A separate garage can hold additional toys, or the rescue tender, as buyers so wish.
Upon delivery, a crew of eight will man Andiamo for voyages possible on both sides of the Atlantic. The anticipated best range of 3,200 nautical miles will make it possible.
“Every detail of the SD132 reflects the dedication and passion of our team, which has once again sought to challenge traditional limits related to onboard space and volume,” Vincenzi says.
