Two days before 2025 rang in, Heesen Yachts and an experienced yacht owner signed the dotted line for the code-named yacht Project Angelica. The steel-hulled superyacht should start construction soon, too, with an anticipated delivery in 2027.
According to Heesen, the owner was already familiar with the builder’s abilities and with the series to which the yacht belongs. Specifically, it’s the 55M Steel series, which includes deliveries like the yacht Serena. The 180-foot (55-meter) platform offers a large internal volume of 760 gross tons, with about 4,300 square feet (400 square meters) of usable interior space, too.
Heesen isn’t disclosing what the owner of the yacht Project Angelica wants the interior to look like. Of course, since the series is semi-custom, a good deal of personalization is available. The yard does say the owner is taking advantage of this, having requested some changes. In collaboration with Luca Dini Design, accommodations for 12 in up to seven staterooms will be possible.
Additionally, because the owner plans on using the megayacht year-round, alfresco areas will receive as much attention. Generally speaking, the 55M Steel series has good shaded and full-sun spaces, from the main deck to the uppermost deck. Conversation corners, sunpads, dining and cocktail areas, and more are all possibilities.
Notably, Ruud van der Stroom, Heesen’s chief commercial officer, says the owner and his representatives have strong goals. “Their vision for Project Angelica was both challenging and inspiring,” he notes. It pushed the yard to come up with “innovative solutions to meet the client’s specific requirements.”
Delivery for the yacht, also known as YN 21255, herhull number, is set for the first half of 2027. “We are thrilled to welcome this client to the Heesen family,” says van der Stroom. “Together, we will transform Project Angelica into a true reflection of its owner’s vision.”
