Hull number one in a new sporty-styled, steel transatlantic cruiser at ISA Yachts has landed a buyer. The ISA Unica 45 yacht blends aesthetics and engineering in ways traditionally not seen.
The contract is for a series that came to light with a slightly smaller concept. The proposed design was the all-aluminum ISA Unica 40 yacht, which is still available for contract. “Unica” translates to “unique” from Italian, hinting at the special approach to design. Many semi-custom superyacht series across the industry adhere to traditional styling features. The ISA Unica 45 yacht by contrast mixes a plumb bow with an open-air, three-level beach area, plus sleek lines in between. The sportiness and the beach area might ordinarily lead to the assumption that this is a fast series, but it’s not. In fact, since she has a steel displacement hull, the yacht should see a top speed of 15 knots. Transatlantic crossings are possible at 10 knots, too, in part due to upwards of 15,850 gallons (60,000 liters) of fuel.

With a volume of 430 gross tons and an LOA of 144 feet (44 meters), the ISA Unica 45 yacht takes a different approach to deck configurations, too. For instance, instead of the gym being below decks in a room that converts from a cabin, it’s to starboard on the main deck. It’s conveniently next to the day head for any guest to use. Additionally, the sundeck is expansive, nearly 52 feet (16 meters) for enjoying a hot tub, sunpads, a bar, and a 12-person dining area. Further alfresco areas include a sizable foredeck sunning and seating area, on the same level as the wheelhouse. A few steps down forward lead to another sunpad. Finally, while guests can enjoy terrific views from the lounge and bar aft of the wheelhouse through full-height glass, the best views come from the beach area. Glass balustrades particularly preserve the vistas.

With accommodations for 10 in the owner’s party plus eight crew and the captain, the first ISA Unica 45 yacht will see delivery in 2027, to an American owner.
