Few things make a yacht builder happier than having a repeat customer. An American owner not only came back to Mangusta for another yacht, but also celebrated the launch of that new yacht last week. The yacht is hull number four in the Mangusta Oceano 39 yacht series.

Conceived as an oceangoing glass villa, the series has met with quick success. In fact, hull number one launched in June 2024 (bottom). The design taps into the desire to feel more immersed in anchorages and while at sea. Therefore, the 129-footer (39-meter) has primarily glass bulwarks, frameless in many places, along with glass handrails. Slide-open glass characterizes a few decks, too. Not to be outdone, the master suite has a skylight that’s actually the bottom of the foredeck infinity pool. Mangusta’s in-house engineers and designer Alberto Mancini lend 330 gross tons of interior volume, with a light and bright decor further amplifying the seamless sensation.
The launch of this Mangusta Oceano 39 yacht, which took place on June 26, “is a strategic accomplishment for our brand,” says Stefano Arlunno, Mangusta America’s president. Of course, four launches from one series within one year is an important achievement. However, Arlunno notes that “in the United States, Mangusta is not merely a renowned brand.” A significant number of American clients are attracted to the megayacht models, including the maxi opens.
Similar to other U.S. customers for Mangusta, the owner of this superyacht chose some features that fully revolve around relaxation and time with friends and family. For example, the owner requested a central bar in the saloon that converts for eating as well. Although the shipyard isn’t revealing all of the owner’s choices, it does say that the beach club was a big draw. Side platforms open it up to better serve as a lounge directly at the water’s edge. These same platforms can be helpful when guests are climbing onto watertoys, to have a little fun off the yacht for an afternoon.
Since this owner opted for the higher-horsepower engine option, top speed should be about 18 knots. With the standard 1,700-hp MTUs, the max end is about 15 knots.
