Last seen upon entering outfitting in 2023, the yacht Angelique, previously known as Project Vento, is nearing delivery. She’s the largest contract in Turquoise Yachts’ 20-year history. Simultaneously, she’s the largest private yacht from any Turkish shipyard so far.
With styling by H2 Yacht Design, the nearly 288-footer (88-meter) rises five decks high and shows off a classically flared bow. She has sporty appeal, too, thanks to angled grills combining with long, flowing curves on her superstructure. Drawing even more attention to her, the hull of the superyacht is a distinctive blue. If you’re a fan of sportscars, you’ll appreciate that it draws inspiration from Blu Tour de France, a.k.a. Tour de France Blue. It’s an immediately recognizable metallic blue associated with Ferrari.

Within her steel hull and aluminum superstructure, the yacht Angelique boasts a volume of 2,550 gross tons, for a sizable owners’ party. In fact, 16 people can dine together just off the main saloon. Several people can enjoy the wellness areas together on the bridge deck, too. Workout buddies can hit the gym, for instance, a room wrapped in glass on three sides. A few other guests, meanwhile, might prefer using the sauna, hammam, or beauty treatments room.
Throughout the yacht Angelique, the ambience has elements of a bygone era. In conjunction with the owners, H2 Yacht Design created an Art Deco-inspired interior “that we’ve taken to another level,” according to studio founder Jonny Horsfield. The owners saw what Turquoise Yachts and H2 Yacht design created aboard the yacht Go, from 2018, and really liked it. Therefore, the studio used that as a starting point, evolving it according to the owners’ tastes. Among the design touches, each of the six guest suites on the main deck (two VIPs and four traditional suties) has its own color theme. Additionally, a Dale Chihuly sculpture hangs within the atrium adjoining all the decks.

As much as a visual spectacle was important, privacy was as well. The owners and guests can arrive aboard Angelique via a drive-in tender bay. The bay connects directly to the beach club, which has sunlight streaming in through the skylights. They’re actually the glass bottom of the main-deck pool. A foredeck touch-and-go helipad is in proximity to the owners’ suite for swift, private arrivals and departures as well. (The helipad, by the way, doubles as a basketball court.) Notably, the crew has a nice private space for relaxing as well, forward on the bridge deck.
The most privacy, though, belongs to the owners on a deck dedicated to them. Some of the highlights include a TV lounge and a raised breakfast table directly at the forward windows, for enjoying some of the best views aboard. Equally notable, the owners can slide open glass doors to sit outside in a recessed area and relax in a hot tub. For a little more relaxation, though, the alfresco area fully aft on the owners’ deck is a treat. The owners of the yacht Angelique have a bar and dining area, which sliding glass doors can enclose if the weather turns. Just inside the permanently enclosed area, meanwhile, there’s even more of a treat. It’s a saloon for movies and table games.

Reflecting on her history-making status, Burak Akgül, CEO of Turquoise Yachts, calls Angelique “a remarkable achievement.” Expected to top out at 17 knots during sea trials, the superyacht will be available for charter later this year.
